Ländliche Bevölkerung unter 20.000 Ew./Stadt im Jahr 2020: 5.069.000 // Jahr 2050: 4.221.000 (- 16,7%)

Urbane Bevölkerung über 20.000 Einwohner im Jahr 2060: 14.900.000 (+7,0) - von 2050 bis 2060 

Ländliche Bevölkerung unter 20.000 im Jahr 2060: 4.406.000 (-4,5%)

Ohne Migration würde NRW bis ins Jahr 2050 auf 15.293.000 Einwohner fallen (Geburten/Sterberate) und ein minus von 365.000 Ew. in der inländischen Wanderungsbilanz erwarten können. (= 14.928.000) 

Nach dem Jahr 2050 könnte ein etwas stärkerer Bevölkerungsanstieg in NRW aufgrund der weitaus umfangreicheren Weltmigration als wahrscheinlich gelten. Klimawandel, Überbevölkerung und Konflikte in kritischen Weltregionen steigern nachhaltig die Migration in ökonomisch/gesellschaftlich stabilere und klimatisch günstigere Weltregionen - wo auch NRW (und Deutschland) liegt.
